Club Travel Cares

In the spirit of building communities, Club Travel has made dreams come true for two very deserving individuals. Serving the wider community should be at the heart of any business, big or small; not for the purpose of ticking the box on the scorecard but to help them learn to sustain themselves.

Monwabisi Ngeyakhe is a young man from Khayelitsha who had the desire to give back to his community through work with children. Having learned of his ambitions to give back to his community, Club Travel in partnership with the Waves for Change Foundation sponsored a Social Work course for Monwabisi to attend. Upon his completion of the course, Monwabisi is now a registered Child and Youth Care Worker with the South African Council for Social Service Professionals. “I am so grateful to have been able to attend this course. I found it extremely useful and the opportunity to have learned how to work with kids is fulfilling. This is my passion!” said Monwabisi.

Another dream that came true with the help of Club Travel was that of Nicolas Mtaki. It had always been a keen aspiration of Nicolas’s to have an IT centre so as to assist young people in his community of Kayamandi, Western Cape. The goal was to facilitate and acclimatise the youth of the community on the use of computers so as to learn new skills and find opportunities through these skills. After learning about this great initiative, Club Travel took to assisting Nicolas by donating four computers to the centre.

Nicolas who is an ADT Security guard spends his free time ensuring the upkeep of his IT centre where he will go on to run computer classes and host business development training sessions. As Nicolas pointed out one of the reasons behind his desire to uplift and empower the youth in his community, “If young people have something to do, a place to go, learn computer skills and be entertained they are less likely to do no good.”

The simple reality of changing a life that can go on to change many is the reason behind Club Travel’s involvement in such initiatives.ClubTravel Cares
