Club Travel\u2019s Financial Director, Gary Mulder, along with other golfers affiliated to the JDI\u00a0Foundation recently turned out at the Westlake Golf Course to support this year\u2019s worthy\u00a0beneficiary of their fundraising efforts.<\/p>\n
The JDI Foundation consists of various groups worldwide who shies away from making\u00a0nameless donations, opting rather to foster a culture of change in individuals and\u00a0organization which benefit from their contributions.<\/p>\n
In close partnership with Club Travel, this year\u2019s beneficiary was the CHOC Childhood Cancer\u00a0Foundation of South Africa. CHOC was established in 1979 as a support group to parents of\u00a0children with cancer. Their aim is to ease the burden on parents by providing access to\u00a0relevant, accurate information, as well as emotional and practical support.<\/p>\n
CHOC runs 13 accommodation facilities for families close to treatment centres. With the\u00a0funds raised at the Club Travel JDI Golf Day, we have enabled a housing facility in Plumstead\u00a0to operate for a full year thanks to the donation of R106 556.<\/p>\n
\u201cI had a look through the dictionary to find the right word to thank Club Travel for thisgenerous donation, and could not find one word to express our immense gratitude. The\u00a0only thing I can say is thank you from the bottom of our hearts,\u201d said Willie Loots, who
\ntogether with his wife, Lana, runs the home and assist the families residing there for the\u00a0duration of the children\u2019s treatment and recovery.<\/p>\n
Club Travel handed the cheque over to the CHOC home during a recent visit.<\/p>\n
