THRM’s First Birthday<\/strong><\/p>\n

Thebe Health Risk Management (THRM), a joint venture between Thebe Ya Bophelo (TYB) and Metropolitan Health Risk Management lth (MH) effectively started operating on the 1st<\/sup> of January 2016. This is the day that is marked as THRMs birthday.<\/p>\n

In the true Thebe Health Group style, we do not miss an opportunity to celebrate key milestones. When Thebemed (medical aid scheme administered by TYB) reached the 10\u00a0000 member mile, we celebrated this great achievement. When TYB turned 12 on the 1st of July 2015, we once again celebrated. We therefore saw a great opportunity to celebrate the new baby in the group, THRM.<\/p>\n

On the 25th<\/sup> of January we had the official THRM birthday celebration. The festivities, included the THRM choir, words of encouragement by Ms Nobuzwe Mbuyisa representing Mr Jerry Mabena and TIC, guest speaker, Dr Mangaliso Mahlaba and Ms Rose Kharibe who took us through some of the highlights for the year.<\/p>\n

What are some of the successes?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Under the leadership of Rose Kharibe and her leadership team, THRM has brought to Thebe Health Group a new vibe and a balance between work and play. As a new entity, they managed to meet SLA in the first few months of operation. There were 120 764 enrolees on the programme in September 2016 which is 6.63% of Scheme lives (Target 7.1%). New enrolments average 1500 per month.<\/p>\n

THRM implemented a new system in the 1st<\/sup> year of operation. The system went live on the 3rd<\/sup> of January 2017. In remaining true to \u201cbuilding communities, our bottom line\u201d, THRM got involved in community development. A multi-purpose tele-centre called Siyabonga in the Vaal is where THRM focused its\u2019 community development efforts. Siyabonga provides youth with skills through short courses including, Call Centre Training, End User Computing, Computerised Cashier, all accredited by the Service Seta. THRM\u2019s involvement in Siyabonga lead to the employment of 3 young people from the centre. Siyabonga also has a feeding scheme and has care givers who look after vulnerable children. Through them, Thebe Health Group\u2019s employees donated toys in December 2016 for a Christmas lunch organised by the centre. THRM trained Siyabonga Caregivers and Auxiliary Social Workers on HIV Management and Youth on interview readiness<\/p>\n

As part of enterprise development and the growth of its\u2019 employees, THRM and Thebe Ya Bopelo (TYB) have invested in Inani Consulting. This is a company formed by employees who used to work for both companies. They will be providing quality assurance and audit services to both companies. In its\u2019 maiden year in the Group, THRM announced its\u2019 arrival by having 2 employees win awards at the 8th<\/sup> Annual Thebe Group Excellence Awards. This is an indication of the calibre of people that THRM has.<\/p>\n

Thebe has a 51% shareholding with MH holding the 49%. THRM is part of Thebe Health Group (CEO \u2013 Rohan Laird) which falls under the Thebe Services Division. \u00a0Dr Mangaliso Mahlaba is the CEO of both THRM and TYB. In 2015, Thebe Health Risk Management won a tender to manage the GEMS (Government Employees Medical Scheme) HIV\/Aids Managed Care programme. It is one of the biggest privately funded HIV\/Aids programmes in the world.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
