As the day broke through on 22 April 2015, delegates from Thebe House joined the Thebe Mining Resources team as they made a trip to Fochville to welcome Turnstone Drilling employees into the Thebe family.<\/p>\n

The trip was a scenic yet traffic laden one but this did not hamper spirits as the team made their way. This particular team was made up of representatives from the different key functional areas within Thebe Investment Corporation; namely the Business Development Unit (BDU), Marketing, Human Resources, Thebe Energy and Resources as well as the Thebe Foundation. The delegates arrived at the head office of, what is now known as, Thebe Turnstone and were welcomed by the staff. As everyone got to know each other, the morning began to unfold. The head office team was shown some of the equipment used in the drilling process by Piet Lombard and Saul Mashishi. The team was shown a drill rig which is used in the drilling process; this machine reaches depths of 2500 metres BQ. The team was then taken on a short drive to one of the drilling sites that are currently in operation. The site known as UD59 boasts a drilling machine that stands at about 45m high and is drilling 3170m below the surface in search of diamonds\/gold.<\/p>\n
The staff onsite is not only knowledgeable and patient (geared towards the end result) but they are extremely dedicated; working shifts of 8 hours each around the clock. As the team left site UD59, the road led them to a storage site for all the used drilling rods and other elements. Safety is a key factor in the drilling industry as the team came to learn upon entering the storage site. Each person had to take a breathalyser test upon entry. Piet took the team through some of the cost saving measures that Turnstone undertakes so as to ensure its longevity. Nothing goes to waste.<\/p>\n
The purpose of this visit was to begin to facilitate the on-boarding process. This process entails having discussions around the different functions within the respective businesses and ensuring that these functions are well aligned. By way of on-boarding Thebe Turnstone into the Thebe family; the company will take on a \u201cnew\u201d look and feel publically that will illustrate the union between itself and Thebe Mining Resources. This means that all functions need to compliment and reflect the broader scope of Thebe thus creating a strong brand identity as well as instilling in the public that it is a key player in the drilling industry.<\/p>\n
The Memento restaurant was the backdrop of the formalities for the day. The team sat overlooking a lake while Nonhlanhla Mabusela, CEO Thebe Mining Resources, further engaged them in discussions that ensured everyone got to better understand the functional areas each person is responsible for within the respective businesses. The serene setting then allowed the team to unwind once the formalities were completed and the opportunity to get to know one another waspresented.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
