It is the first universal Gautrain app running on iOS 7, Apple\u2019s latest mobile operating system. This focused, polished app will make travelling on the Gautrain easier than ever.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In the last edition of Thebe Times, we predicted that the introduction of new travel-apps is going to be one of the interesting trends to watch out for in 2014.<\/p>\n<p>This trend is already in full swing. About three weeks ago, Litha Soyizwapi, an independent iOS developer and designer based in Johannesburg, released GauRider 1.0, a world-class app that lets users of the Gautrain and Gaubus find times of the next available bus or train quicker and more elegantly on any of the iOS devices like iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.<\/p>\n<p>GauRider is now available on iTunes and is the first universal Gautrain app running on iOS 7, Apple\u2019s latest mobile operating system.<\/p>\n<p>The intuitive drag and drop user interface makes it easy and a pleasure to navigate to any direction. Due to the &#8220;Smart Date&#8221; feature, the app does not use your data and works even if you are underground or offline.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m really excited to unveil this brand new app. I\u2019ve been working for over a year to ensure that the app is focused, beautiful, has an incredible polish, and it is a stable first release. I can\u2019t wait to get this app to the hands of my fellow GauRiders, so that they can find the Gautrain and bus times quicker and intuitively.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs an everyday user of the Gautrain service, I built GauRider for myself and for commuters who care about beauty, simplicity and functionality,\u201d says Litha.<br \/>\nGaurider is not the only smart app that is on the market for the 50 000 daily users of Gautrain, the advanced train system that rapidly moves travellers and commuters between OR Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg, and Pretoria.<\/p>\n<p>For the Gautrain users, GauRider 1.0 is competing with Gautrain Buddy, launched by an independent developer, and Gautrain, an app that was released by the Gautrain Management Agency. However, GauRider\u2019s competing apps don\u2019t run on iPad.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery great app gets better with time and GauRider is no exception.
