South African boxing champion adds health sponsorship in his ‘wins’

South Africa’s youngest and WBA and IBO world straw weight champion, Hekkie Budler, has received an important sponsorship from Thebemed Medical Aid Scheme. The 26 year old boxer, fondly known as the ‘Hexecutioner’, will now be able to maintain his and his family’s health needs while focusing on his winning streak following his recent victory in Monte Carlo where he toppled Thailand’s Pigmy Kokietgym on the 8th round.

Vusi Mazibuko, Chairman of Thebemed explains: “As Thebemed, we are proud to be supporting a sportsman of his calibre who does not only excel at his game, but also lives a clean and disciplined lifestyle. The sponsorship is aligned with Thebemed’s objective of promoting an active and a healthy lifestyle while ensuring that one is able to fund for their health issues that may arise in the course of life.”

“Budler’s Thebemed sponsorship is a medical aid package with additional funds to cover physiotherapy to aid in his development and injury management. “This will enable him to maintain a healthy lifestyle with less stress both emotionally and financially,” adds Mazibuko.

Budler’s rising star in the international circles is backed by illustrious wins with stoppage victories over his South African counterparts. The ‘Hexecutioner’ has maintained a winning momentum against dangerous opponents and the future looks even brighter following the June victory in Monte Carlo. His levels of concentration and ability to stick to his strategy are huge enablers of his success.

“I am quite excited and thankful of the Thebemed sponsorship. I’ve one less thing to worry about now that mine and my family’s health is taken care of. This is really a confidence booster,” says Budler.

Budler has a record of 26 wins out of 27 – which includes nine knock-out wins, zero draw and one loss. Budler’s next fight will be in October 2014 at Monte Carlo.
