Thebe Ya Bophelo celebrates Africa

In support of the nationwide Anti-Xenophobia campaigns, Thebe Ya Bophelo took on a movement to celebrate the African continent. After the ruthless killings, TYB wanted to lend its voice in taking a stand against the horrific violence our country was facing. It was time to stand in solidarity with our fellow African Brothers and sisters.

The staff of TYB held a prayer for those who were affected by the senseless attacks as well as for those who were fleeing with their families to places of safety. This Morning Prayer session was held very early to ensure operation time was still in place and SLA were still met. Candles were lit and a poster was created by staff with messages of love and hope.

Each Friday throughout the month of May, TYB celebrated an African country. As a company that takes joy in truly African festivities, it was befitting that our Africanism was celebrated. Even more appropriately so, it all happened in the month where the continent celebrated Africa month.

The staff found these Fridays enlightening and enjoyable as they not only had to wear what represented the country but share with their colleague’s fun facts about that particular African destination. The Countries that were celebrated included Nigeria, Somalia, Malawi, and Mozambique. On Africa Day, we all had to wear what made us truly African.
We are Africa!
