Rapulane Mogototoane

Group Chief Legal Officer

As the Group’s in-house Legal Counsel, Rapulane is responsible for the overall management of the Group’s legal risks, including the provision of support to merger and acquisition activities. Rapulane is an admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa. He holds a Bachelor and an Honours degree in Law from the University of the Western Cape; a Masters degree in Banking, Finance and Commercial Law from the University of the Witwatersrand and an MBA from the Gordon Institute of Business Science, University of Pretoria.

 

Prior to joining Thebe, Mogototoane worked at the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA) as the Divisional Executive – Group Legal Services, responsible for the management of the DBSA’s legal risks across 14 countries of the Southern African Development Community. He also held the positions of Structured Financier at DBSA as well as Law and Group Law Advisor for Gensec Bank Limited and Sanlam Limited, respectively. Mogototoane started his articles at Webber Wentzel Bowens and practised as a commercial lawyer at Sonnenberg Hoffman & Galombik Inc.
